I appears McCarthy is planning on being there. I for one don't want to run into this man anywhere - especially in a room of examiners where this dude can go postal.
I will wait until morning before I decide to post a response to him and tell him I am not interested in his soap box stories.
Why are there side conversations with this wacko?
BTW, E - Its in your back yard....you gotta be there.

Joe is a paranoid fella, ain't he? I suspect Pat is being sincere when he told Joe to come to APA for friends. I dunno. I've been in Cincinatti for the last 2 weeks and I think I'll be in Akron during APA. I'm attempting to be in Indy for the conference to at least be around for an evening of R and R to yuck it up with some of you examiners that I've never met personally. We'll see.
Something tells me that this conference will be more historic than others. I only wish I could be more helpful with picking some of you up at the airport and being more "hosty" like I'd originally planned. Indy is a great town and I am proud of her.

My current employer is scared to death that they'll invest all this time and money in me, only to lose me to the polygraph profession. I sense that they want me as far away "from the old job" as possible. They love the war stories but hate the fact that I loved the work (sans the money and quality of life.)They love to remind me of how much money I'm going to make, and after this training period, how I can coach soccer, buy man toys, take nice vacations, and still put the kiddies through private school (southern Indiana schools are failing miserably) all the while being home for dinner nearly every night. They have strong points.
FYI, the trucking and heavy equipment business is REALLY stressing over this fuel crisis---and the future is very uncertain though. This third quarter looks like it's gonna be ugly. My timing sucks.

As the new kid on the block I look forward to the APA meeting in Indianapolis.
I have learned a great deal from this discussion forum, and I would like to place faces with names, so I hope to meet you all.
I can't say that Joe McCarthy is on my list of people to meet, because the image I have of him is less than complimentary. His latest post makes it seem like he wants to hold a press conference, yet he is in fear of being physically attacked by the examiners in attendance.
I first must attend the Indiana Polygraph Association conference in Indianapolis on 27 June. I guess they will vote on my membership at that time.
I understand that Jimmy Swinford from DACA will be the guest speaker on Numerical Analysis of Comparison Technique and Test Data Analysis. I'm sure I'll learn something.
Setting up practice in the private sector can be a little scary, but this forum has been a great resource for business savy.
I've retired twice, but I'm still too young to be put out to pasture. I suppose community service becomes a way of life, and is very gratifying. I see PCSOT as a tool that serves both ends.
I also do PI work, but nothing sleezy. Its nice to be able to pick and choose the cases.
Once again I look forward to meet all of you that attend.

If I make it I will fly. Too long of a ride from Utah. With my MBR it would take me 3 days to get there. So 6 days travel plus 5 days of sitting....ew. If I do go I may do one of the rentals there for the Wednesday Ride.

FYI---Indy in August will feel like a sauna. In anticipation for another Indiana summer, I am designing the world's first sleeveless 3 piece suit. Nothing says elegance like an Armani wife-beater. The tie will serve double duty as a handy face-sweat wiper. So if you're comin to Indy, bring plenty of manpons.
p.s. VERY cool avatar CK. Graphics rule every time. Once you learn the recipe, it's a matter of seconds to add them. In most internet web forums, EVERY post contains some kind of avatar---and every user learns to use'em. We'll get there.

I'm considering riding the '79 XS11 to Indy.
Not a HOG, but an 1100 cc air-cooled, shaft drive, 4-cylinder barbecue. No machine guns or rocket launchers. But you can cook bacon on it, and it's got storage large enough for small children and windshield that'll stop all but the largest of skeeters.
Anyone heading east?

Warning! In many areas of the midwest (Illinois, Indiana, Ohio) it is another Cicada season. Cicadas, which are sometimes incorrectly called 17 year locusts, are --like locusts, a swarming, loud, giant insect that is a real hazard to motorcyclists everywhere. Having driven around the midwest in the past 3 weeks and seen first hand the big windshield "THUMP!" that they make when struck, I can only imagine bashing ones head (even with a helmet) or neck would feel like being shot with a golf ball cannon. I'd research the phenom before you "getcher motor runnin".

I think those things hatched last year in New Orleans! Besides those pesky bugs, you may need to tow a jet ski behind the bike to get through all the flooding.
Unfortunately I have decided not to make the trek this year to APA.
You guys will have to come back and report if Mr. McCarthy shows up and makes an azz out of himself!

I will be there, I attended the last APA in Indianapolis and it was excellent. The city was very nice. I recommend it to anyone on the fence.
